This skull is carved with butterflies whose wings hold hearts at their centre. The skull speaks to the completed cycle: the old self, the vessel, the form that must eventually be released. The butterfly is the ancient image of the soul after metamorphosis: what emerges when the previous life has fully dissolved. The hearts inside the wings name the nature of that emergence. This is not transformation for its own sake. It is the heart giving the soul its flight love carried through change, devotion that does not end when a chapter does.
